Carlisle, PA - Giant Food Stores, LLC today announced the appointment of Chris Kukay to vice president of meat. In his new position, he will manage all aspects of meat sales, profitability, earnings and images. Most recently Mr. Kukay was leading a special store format project team for Stop & Shop Supermarkets.
Kukay will report to Jodie Daubert, senior vice president of perishables, and will work with Rick Waite, Giant's current vice president for meat and seafood, who has announced his retirement later this year.
An Ahold associate since 1999, Mr. Kukay joins Giant from Stop & Shop where he held several positions including meat specialist, meat buyer, category manager of meat, senior director of seafood and procurement and vice president of meat and seafood procurement. He holds a MBA in international finance and marketing from Cleveland State University, a Master of Science in meat science and muscle biochemistry from Colorado State University and a bachelor's in animal sciences from Ohio State University. He was also awarded an Ahold fellowship in 1993 to attend the International Business Program at Nijenrode University in the Netherlands. Chris resides in Carlisle with his wife and two daughters.
