Carlisle, PA Following a nationwide recall by Daniele International Inc., Giant Food Stores and Martin's Food Markets today removed from store shelves the following Daniele Pepper-Coated Salame products because they may have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella bacteria:
· Boar's Head Salame Coated with Pepper, 8 oz., UPC 4242116075, all code dates, package bears a label with establishment number "EST. 9992" or "EST. 54" inside the USDA mark of inspection
· Daniele Deli Selection Tray, 20 oz., UPC 73643653012, all code dates, package bears a label with establishment number "EST. 9992" or "EST. 54" inside the USDA mark of inspection
· Daniele Gourmet Hot Variety Deli Meat, 8 oz., UPC 73643684729, all code dates, package bears a label with establishment number "EST. 9992" or "EST. 54" inside the USDA mark of inspection
Customers who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to any Giant Food Store or Martin's Food Market for a full refund. To date, Giant has received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of this product.
