Guidelines for Charitable Giving.

Giant Food Stores has a proud tradition of community service that dates back to our beginnings in 1923. While we are pleased for the opportunity to review your request for financial support, our corporate giving primarily focuses on two areas of support:

• Hunger relief and providing food for people in need
• Well-being of children

We ask that you send your request for support in writing, on your organization's letterhead (no faxes or e-mails, please) to:

Please include all supporting documentation, including a copy of your organization's W9 form, if possible. All correspondence should contain your purpose for writing, the date of your event (if applicable), name, address, phone number of a contact person and what type of donation you are looking for. We request 4-6 weeks advance notice of an event.

MAJOR PARTNERSHIPS

If you are writing to seek major sponsorship for a program or event, or to develop a partnership with Giant, please be advised that our store promotional programs are planned a minimum of three months in advance.

ACTIVITIES WE CANNOT SUPPORT

As a result of the high volume of requests we receive and the limited funds that we have for charitable purposes, we are unable to make contributions for any of the following:

• Out-of-state or out-of-country trip expenses
• Assistance for individuals
• Third party donations (we prefer to make donations directly to charities)

Requests for Advertising:

All requests for advertising such as yearbooks, directories and program booklets should be sent in writing on your organization's letterhead to:

SOLICITATION

We do not permit solicitation by groups on our property. However, we welcome groups to submit requests for donations to our Store Managers or our Community Relations department.
