“OUR KIDS” GOLF OUTING

MARTIN’S hosts a portion of this annual event in July with over 1400 golfers—MARTIN’S associates and vendors—participating in support of the “Our Kids” charities. Money raised is donated to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals in our operating areas. Since 1988, the “Our Kids” golf outing has grown by leaps and bounds. Participation, donations, and items sold at “Our Kids” auctions, have provided even more funding and medical care for children in need.

“OUR KIDS” CELEBRITY PUTTING CONTEST

In July 2002, MARTIN’S held the first annual “Our Kids” Celebrity Putting Contest, featuring media celebrities paired with children who have benefited from the Children’s Miracle Network. Each celebrity/child pair was recognized by MARTIN’S with a donation of $100 in their name. Additional donations were made for first and second place in the contest. The 2004 Putting Contest raised $2,450!

“OUR KIDS” BALLOONS

Every spring our stores sell paper Children’s Miracle Network balloons to customers for $1 each. The money raised from balloon sales is donated to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in our operating areas. Over $260,000 was raised in 2004!

“OUR KIDS” CANDLES

During the holiday season, MARTIN’S sells paper candles to customers in our stores for $1 each. Customers can write their names on the candles, which are then displayed in the store. The donated funds benefit Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in our operating areas. With your help MARTIN’S raised over $357,000 in 2004.

STOCK MARKET GAME™

MARTIN’S has joined Economics PA to help integrate economics into existing school curriculum by sponsoring economic activities such as The Stock Market Game™. The GIANT Food Stores Center for Economic Education at Harrisburg High School, serves middle and high schools in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Perry, and York counties.

LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL SPONSORSHIP IN 2004

Our goal through the sponsorships of little leagues is to improve consumers awareness of MARTIN’S involvement in communities in which we have stores. Sponsorships included: renaming of fields "MARTIN’S Field", MARTIN’S logo on uniforms, scoreboards and outfield fence signs. MARTIN’S sponsored over 60 little leagues, this is not including the number of girls softball teams, high school baseball/softball teams and midget football team. Other forms of sponsorship included MARTIN’S gift cards and napkins. The following are just a few of the major sponsorship MARTIN’S provided this year.
