September is National Hunger Action Month and we are asking customers, associates and vendors to join us in the fight against hunger.
Help Giant and Martin's “Bag Hunger”
From September 6 through September 19, customers will be asked to donate $1 at the checkout to benefit local food banks as part of our annual Bag Hunger campaign. Last year, customers helped us raise more than $355,000. Recipient food banks include the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, Philabundance, Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley, Food Bank of Western Maryland, Food Resources of Washington County, and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
Buy Products that Raise Money for Regional Food Banks!
Look for special products in our circular that, when purchased, will raise funds for regional food banks.
In addition to fundraising efforts like the Bag Hunger campaign, we also have food donation programs in place. On a regular basis, our stores donate day-old bakery items to local pantries and soup kitchens. At holiday time, we provide turkeys and hams to families who otherwise would not be able to afford a holiday meal.
