Entries should illustrate a message that corresponds to either of the themes listed below. Websites such as poisonprevention.org, cpsc.gov and nsc.org can provide information and ideas. Entries should not include any trademark symbols, brand names or characters.
Poisons: Simple steps save lives.
Simple actions like tightly securing child-resistant closures and making sure poisons are locked or placed out-of-reach, can help prevent poisonings.
Children act fast, so do poisons.
Many incidents happen when adults are momentarily distracted (for example, by a doorbell or phone call). Children act fast, and adults must make sure that household chemicals and medicine are stored away from children at all times.
- Return completed entry form and coloring page / poster to any Giant Pharmacy by March 31, 2009.
- Winners will be notified on or about April 13, 2009.
- Three winners will be chosen from each of the following groups: 1) Kindergarten-First Grade, 2) Second-Third Grade and 3) Fourth-Sixth Grade.
- Each winner’s school will be presented with a $500 check. Winners will also receive a congratulatory plaque.
